Head Coach - Karri
Guiliani
We are extremely excited to
announce that Karri Guiliani will be the Flying Ducks' head coach this
summer. It is truly specialto welcome someone with such a distinguished
history with our team back to lead the flock, and to demonstrate again that
Once a Duck - Always a Duck! Her experience, leadership and expertise will
be a tremendous asset for the team. Karri has been involved in the local
swimming community since 1982. Her swimming career has involved competing
for Ben Lomond (1983-1997), Stonewall Jackson High School, Curl-Burke Swim
Club, and The George Washington University, where she competed in distance
freestyle events. Coach Karri was a Junior National Qualifier, All-American
High School swimmer, and still holds records with Ben Lomond. In her 14
year coaching career she has had the opportunity to work with swimmers at
all age group levels and development ranges. She began coaching with Ben
Lomond as an assistant while competing on the team, and has continued to
coach with various US Swimming programs. Most recently she has coached the
High School Performance group with Curl-Burke and has been the Head Coach
of the girls and boys swim teams at Battlefield High School since the
school's opening in 2004. In addition to coaching, Coach Karri also works
for Freddie Mac (Reston) and has a 9-year-old daughter, Olivia. Coach Karri
looks forward to returning to the Ducks and watching all the swimmers have
a fun and rewarding summer!
Stroke Development
Coach - Matt Sanford
Matt Sanford swam with the DUCKS since he
was 9 years old. His favorite strokes were always free and fly. He swam his
Freshman year at Stonewall Jackson High School and then finished up his
last three years on the Osbourn Park Swim Team. He began coaching with our
winter clinics three years ago and has returned from Old Dominion
University to help coach this summer. The swimmers love the time and
attention he gives each one as soon as they step out of the pool after
their events. Matt's 10 year old younger brother, Seth, still swims for the
Ducks.
Group 1 Coach - Gabi
Seltzer
Gabi is in her second summer

has been swimming competitively since she was five years old, and was a
member of the Varsity Swim Team all four years in high school. Gabi also
swam for the Golden Serpents, the Capital Area Swim Team, and the Haslett
Blue Marlins in Michigan. In addition, Gabi assisted in coaching the
younger swimmers for the Blue Marlins. In the fall of 2008, Gabi started
her freshmen year at Virginia Tech where she is a Philosophy and History

hopes to go to law school and become a constitutional lawyer. Outside of

to maintain a 4.0 GPA in his school work. Zach is currently enrolled in the
